Endovenous Laser

Treatment Options

The EVLT™ (Endovenous Laser Therapy) Procedure has the purpose of managing insufficiencies in the greater saphenous veins. Instead of removing the vein, as in surgical stripping, EVLT leaves the vein intact while permanently sealing it off. The procedure makes use of the heat from an 810 nm diode laser delivered by a thin fiber-optic probe. Because the equipment used in the procedure, the entire treatment only requires a small incision and leaves minimal to no scars. An ultrasound device is used to guide the probe into place and only a local anesthetic is used to avoid any pain in the treatment location.
